Amplify POC Cape Cod
Today, we have another story of perseverance, and blending heritage culture with Cape Cod's local bounty to create a warm and flavorful experience.
Meet Patrick and Erica Sterling of Island Cafe & Grill, who spoke with Amplify's Rachael Devaney ...
Cape Cod's farm-to-table movement has a delicious twist in Hyannis' Island Cafe & Grill -- a Jamaican-inspired American restaurant that features cuisine from both cultures. Owners Patrick and Erica Sterling source locally grown products to create the cuisine of their Jamaican island heritage as well as American favorites. And it's all presented in a friendly atmosphere with exceptional service.
The dishes are exciting and indulgent. Island Signature Entrees include Jamaican jerk chicken, curried goat, braised oxtail, escovitch red snapper, rice & peas, and rasta pasta. American dishes run the gamut from fish & chips, fried seafood, and shrimp scampi to chicken wings & tenders, grilled chicken sandwich, and quesadilla to classic burgers, clubs, wraps and salads. The breakfast menu includes traditional Jamaican fare alongside the best of American brunch. Private catering of special occasions including weddings, anniversaries and birthdays is also available.
"We enjoy building relationships with area farmers," says Patrick, "so we can infuse our menu with the freshest local ingredients." Erica adds that she’s happy to serve the Cape community, and hopes patrons continue "to enjoy a little taste of paradise with us."
The family-owned business, which recently celebrated its third anniversary, is currently open Wednesday through Sunday. -- Rachael Devaney
