Mrs. Sheril E. Smith is a proud mother of two adult children, a wife, and professional educator for the past 28 years. In 2006, Mrs. Smith migrated to the state of Georgia from Jamaica as an international teacher along with her family. As an educator, she taught in Macon GA for 13 years and attended Wallin University where she obtained her Master's in Education and Minored in Special Needs.

With an extensive background of experience, like teaching at a technical college, many subjects at different levels, Sheril and her family relocated to Cape Cod. While living on the Cape, the idea was born to start her own tutoring company. After much thought and consideration, On-Time Tutoring Services was created, to help provide services such as academic support to kindergarten through middle school students, and teaching English to speakers of other languages. When asked why she chose this age group to tutor, she replied “It’s my favorite group to teach because that is where the fundamentals are applied."

On-Time Tutoring was funded by the perseverance and dedication of Mrs. Smith and her family. In addition to her business, Mrs. Smith also volunteers her time and skills to local non-profit agencies. Looking to the future, On-Time Tutoring Services will be licensed as a Sole Proprietor.

A few encouraging words from Mrs. Smith are tenacity, focus, humor, kindness and open-mindedness. While on her journey she faced some personal struggles like not being fully committed and that caused a lot of inconsistency towards her business. Also, there was a lot of hesitation from clients. Her biggest struggle faced was that people were not as trusting as they say they are. She stated that "business has to be business from the start, make sure you and your clients have the same understanding about services and to keep a contract making sure you both hold up your end of the bargain."

In 5 years, God willing, On-Time Tutoring Services should be going international. With not only teaching children but focusing on them in entirety. Simply meaning to assess and support them holistically. Because a wounded or unstable child will not learn no matter how you teach them the information.
