Amplify POC Cape Cod

In May 2020, amid widespread uproar following the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and others, Tara Vargas Wallace decided to start Amplify POC Cape Cod, a racial justice initiative that helps bolster the work of businesses owned by people of color (POC) on the Cape.

Ms. Vargas Wallace, a Yarmouth Port resident who previously lived in Hyannis, recently spoke with the Enterprise about Amplify’s past, present and future.

For years, Ms. Vargas Wallace has been involved with several social justice groups including the Cape Cod chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the Martin Luther King Jr. Action Team.
